Ages 6-11

2017-2018 Schedule:

Fall: October 2-November 30;

Winter: January 8 -March 2;

Spring: March 12 – May 11 (Spring Break – no classes: 3/26-4/2);

Summer: June 18 – August 10

All youth classes are $3 a class or $24 for the full 8 week session.

Space is limited, please complete a registration form before class start date to reserve your spot. Please note, attendance in each class is required, more than two unexcused absences will jeopardize your spot in the class.

Ballet, Ages 6-11

Mondays, 3:30-5p

Taught by Iyana McNeill

Students will learn the basic vocabulary and techniques of Ballet.

*CLASS IS FULL*

Uniform :
1. Plain black leotard (leotards available at Jubilee Arts)
2. Pink tights
3. Pink/black ballet slippers
(available at Walmart.com, Target, Payless or Amazon.com)
Youth who attend 7 of the 8 classes will receive a tutu and headpiece to keep at the end-of-session celebration!

Book Making, Art

Taught by Catherine Leberg 

Youth will create their own sketch books and fold out books using traditional book making techniques. Youth will learn how to make paper and drawings to fill their hand made books!

Sewing, 6-11

Wednesdays, 3:30 – 5p

Taught by Iqrama Muhammad 

Children love sewing and being creative. In this class, they will take the first steps toward learning basic hand stitching and sewing machine skills. They will be able to use and understand sewing vocabulary, perform basic sewing machine skills and be able to complete and construct a sewing machine project.

Clay, 6-11

Thursdays, 3:30-5p

Clay taught by Dominique Hellgeth

Students will channel their imagination and build their skills in ceramics by creating their own “wonderlands”  full of imagination and wonder! By studying relationships between plants, animals, and landscapes, students will be taught to think about the world they live in while creating a world of their own. The class involves squishing, sculpting, pinching, pressing, and painting to develop an installation of imagination.
