Since 1980 Baltimore Clayworks has provided Baltimore residents of all ages with high quality ceramics and pottery arts classes. Part of Clayworks’ mission involves developing collaborations with community organizations like Jubilee Arts in order to provide underserved children and adults in inner-city Baltimore with enriching and sustained arts activities intended to impart both artistic and life skills.
By partnering with Jubilee Arts, Baltimore Clayworks provides teachers, materials, and programming expertise to the Sandtown-Winchester, Upton and surrounding communities that results in first-rate arts classes for community residents.
Founded in 1826, MICA is among the top visual arts colleges in the nation. The College enrollment consists of students from 44 states and 49 foreign countries. MICA is recognized as an important cultural resource for the Baltimore/Washington region, sponsoring many public and community-outreach programs-including more than 100 exhibitions by students, faculty, and nationally and internationally known artists annually-as well as artists’ residencies, film series, lectures, readings, and performances.
Jubilee Arts is funded in part by an operating grant from the Maryland State Arts Council, an agency dedicated to cultivating a vibrant cultural community where the arts thrive. The mission of MSAC is to encourage and invest in the advancement of the arts for the people of Maryland. The goals of the Council are to support artists and arts organizations in their pursuit of artistic excellence, to ensure the accessibility of the arts to all citizens, and to promote statewide awareness of arts resources and opportunities.
Jubilee Arts has been funded by the Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake and the Baltimore Office of Promotion and The Arts.
