We Help People Make Friends Mural

We Help People Make Friends Mural

Here at Jubilee Arts we help people make friends. Through our art programs (which are starting soon, register here!) participants are able to get involved within the community, make great art and meet new people. We offer art classes in many different mediums such as clay, sewing, mosaic, african drumming, line dance and so much more.

On the day following the uprising, volunteers and youth came to work on this brand new mural. It was an incredible witness to the dedication of our youth and volunteers to continue beautifying and supporting the arts in our community.

The new mural is painted in the alleyway alongside Jubilee Arts and is composed of the youth’s drawings from our street art class. It was created by teaching artist, Sarah Edelsburg and her class with youth ages 6-11. The mural slogan, ‘We Help People Make Friends’ was created through a brainstorming and drawing session with the youth. This particular phase was Shawn’s idea!  One of our young artists is obsessed with ninjas, so he decided to paint an Artist-Ninja on the mural and we absolutely love it!

Jubilee arts is located in the historic Sandtown-Winchester community on Pennsylvania Avenue. We’re all about contributing to our community and using art as a powerful social tool. Art has the power to make a difference. You can help us make a positive impact and we can help you make new friends.

We offer affordable class prices with $3 per youth class, $6 per adult and $10 for clay classes. Join us for our summer session starting on June 15- August 8 2015. We can’t wait to have you!
