Resident artist Emily Chow Bluck worked with Gilmor Elementary students to create a mural about leadership. Students of Ms. Hoffman’s art class were asked to create six inch by six inch square paintings of their future aspirations, the images were then tiled to create the background of the mural. Emily worked with a small group of students who discussed what it meant to be a leader and this group then nominated three of their peers who exemplified leadership. Emily drew their portraits of the nominated students dressed in their future vocational aspirations. The end result…a beautiful inspiring mural for the main entrance/exit of the school!
