This past friday the Explore BMORE class, a class for youth ages 6-11, took a trip to Washington, D.C.. The class led by teaching artist, Christina Greer, allows youth to explore the world around them through a variety of different art mediums. Furthermore, exploration shows how art relates to our community and can be used as a tool of social change.
The class visited the National Museum Of The American Indian in D.C.. The museum is one of the largest of its kind in the world. Exhibits include traditional American Indian architecture and landscaping. All aspects of the museum are designed in collaboration with tribes and communities nationwide to provide an authentic sense of the Native American spirit.
